Why This Matters...
Labor-management collaboration is shown to enhance educator well-being, job satisfaction, and retention by transforming school culture into a highly supportive and connected environment. Research from Educators Thriving demonstrates that educators in high-LMC settings are five times more likely to report high well-being, three times more likely to experience high job satisfaction, and 3.5 times more likely to remain in their district for the next five years.
This preliminary Educators Thriving study conducted in 2025-2026 reinforces prior research from Rutgers, Cornell, and others. These studies describe the multiple ways that formal labor-management partnerships contribute to a more supportive environment for the adults that lead to better outcomes for students.
