It is designed to give attendees of all experience levels something to inspire their curiosity and build connections as part of the Labor-Management Collaborative movement.\n \nThe day will begin with a welcome address from Dr. Kwame Morton\, the superintendent of Cherry Hill Schools. This will be followed by an opening panel from the Thomas Paine School Leadership Team\, where they will share their story of rethinking the use of time to alleviate faculty overload\, improve student behavior\, and build a caring community of support that is having impacts across the district\, not just in their building.\n \nFrom there\, attendees will have the opportunity to explore a variety of breakout sessions centered on:\n\nestablishing an LMC District Steering Committee and School Teams\ndemonstrating a School Collaborative Team in action\nexploring frameworks & protocols used by the Cherry Hill Labor Management Collaborative\ndeeper conversation with Paine School Collaborative Team members\nand discuss problem of practice case studies from across the district\n\nThe day will close with an opportunity for all attendees to have conversation with their counterparts using a modified world cafe format.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSave the Date\nClifton NJ LMC Learning Hub – May 19\nClifton Public Schools will be hosting their LMC Learning Hub in partnership with the NJ Labor-Management Collaborative. Hubs provide an opportunity for host districts to showcase their collaboratives and engage in conversations that help refine practice. Attendees from other districts have a chance to see what labor management collaboratives look like in practice\, ask questions\, and build confidence towards taking the leap into labor management collaboration. Hubs also serve as a place for all attendees to network and engage in collaborative skill building.\n \nThe NJ LMC supports learning hubs by providing resources such as registration\, facilitating learning experiences\, advertising support\, and meals.\n \nWhat can I expect when attending a Learning Hub?\nParticipants attending a Learning Hub can expect to learn how the host district began its collaborative practice\, organizes its LMC\, and the structures and practices it uses. DESCRIPTION:Register Here\nYou are cordially invited to the first role alike meeting for local leaders of 2022. We will be joined by our special guest\, Ray Gaer\, President of the ABC Federation of Teachers in Southern California. This local is a pioneer in labor management collaboration. During this meeting\, Ray will share his experiences using collaborative practice to build a strong\, advocacy oriented local followed time for questions and conversation. We do hope you will join us! \nAbout Our Guest Speaker:\nPrior to becoming the President of the ABC Federation of Teachers\, Ray was a general education and a special education teacher for the first 14 years of his teaching career. Ray has been active in the union and has served on ABCFT’s Executive Board as the Vice President At-Large and has served the negotiating team for two decades. As co-chair of the Innovation Grant Committee\, he helped to bring $425\,000 in mini-grants to ABC schools in the form of teacher/administrator created programs that focused on the needs of individual schools and used labor-management partnership methods in designing their programs. Some of these programs developed into programs that were awarded GoldenBell Awards and help sites to qualify for California Distinguished School Awards. Before becoming a local president\, he served as a PAL Survey CommitteeChair\, ER&D teacher trainer\, and PAL Planning Committee Chairman\, positions all focused on better waysto increase teacher participation in the governance of their school sites through partnership. Ray has been President of the ABC Federation of Teachers for the past ten years and he has presented the ABC labor-management model at the Center for School Improvement in New York; the National School Board Convention; the California Federation of Teachers Convention; the Association of California School Administrators; New Jersey Labor-Management Conferences; multiple CA LMI Conference meetings and at numerous local districts in California. Ray comes from a family of teachers and is married to an administrator so labor management has become a way of life in a household with their two kids.
